Day 1

From Bandaranayake International Airport, Colombo to Hotel Sigiriya, Sigiriya

  • You will be warmly welcome by our representative and safely accompanied to Hotel Sigiriya, Ne for a relaxing night after the tiring flight. Afterwords you get ready to start your voyage here in Sri Lanka.
  • Sigiriya is visibly breath-taking and can be spotted from miles away, rising majestically between the surrounding landscape. You are assured to kick start your experience with mouthwatering cousins and vibrant night down by the nature.

Day 2

  • Sigiriya is a world heritage site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of granite approximately 180 m (590 ft) high. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock, the gateway was built in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure; Siṃhagiri, the Lion Rock.
  • The water gardens at Sigiriya were built symmetrically on an east-west axis. There are three principal water gardens which were built possibly between the 10th and 13th centuries.
  • Dambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings.
  • Wilpattu National Park is the largest and one of the oldest national parks in Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of “Willus” (natural lakes) – natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater.

Day 3

  • Ruwanweli Maha Seya, the Great Thupa is a stupa where Two quarts or one Dona of the Buddha’s relics are enshrined in the stupa, making it the largest collection of his relics anywhere in the world.
  • Sri Maha Bodhi temple is the center of tourist attraction in Anuradhapura. Buddhists from all over the world visit this place. The Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi remains standing and continues to be the oldest cultivated tree in the world with a documented written history.
  • Thuparamaya is Located within the sacred precinct of Mahamewna park, the Thuparamaya Stupa is the earliest Dagoba to be constructed on the island.
  • Abhayagiri Vihāra was a major monastery site situated in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The monastery complex was encircled by great walls and containing elaborate bathing ponds, carved balustrades and moonstones.

Day 4

  • Jaffna Fort is a fort built by the Portuguese at Jaffna, Sri Lanka, in 1618. The fort is located near the coastal village of Gurunagar as the only large military fort in the country.
  • Point Pedro, also known as Paruthithurai is a town, located in Jaffna District, Sri Lanka, at the northernmost point of the island.
  • The Nallur Kandaswamy Kovilis a Hindu temple, located in Nallur, Northern Province, Sri Lanka. The temple is a socially important institution for the Sri Lankan Tamils Tamil identity of the north Sri Lanka.
  • Dambakola Patuna is an ancient port to the north of Jaffna, in the Northern Province, Sri Lanka.

Day 5

  • Nagadeepa Purana Vihara is an ancient Buddhist temple situated in Jaffna. It is among the country’s sixteen holiest Buddhist shrines.
  • It is said that Lord Buddha in his third visit to Sri Lanka has visited this temple to settle the dispute between Chulodhara Mahodara Naga kings over the gems studded throne.
  • By today, the temple area has become a paradise for local and foreign tourists.

Day 6

  • Yapahuwa was one of the ephemeral capitals of medieval Sri Lanka. It was built around a huge granite rock rising abruptly almost a hundred meters above the surrounding lowlands.

Day 7

Colombo City Tour may consist of:

  • Shaikh Usman Waliyullah Shrine the Dewatagaha mosque is one of the more prominent mosques in Colombo.
  • Lucia’s Cathedral, Kotahena named after and dedicated to the virgin and martyr saint Lucy, the cathedral is considered the oldest and largest parish cathedral in Sri Lanka.
  • Independent Memorial Hall is a national monument in Sri Lanka
  • Gangaramaya Temple is one of the most important temples in Colombo being a mix of modern architecture and cultural essence.

Day 8

  • After having the breakfast at Ambalama Leisure Lounge, you can proceed to Bandaranayake International Airport and Bon Voyage Sri Lanka.
